How to Build an Altar, February 14

$65.00

Join us February 14 for a transformational afternoon of ritual, prayer and deep connection. Valentines day, of all days, we’ll turn inward and touch delicately the places of ourselves that crave wholeness. Connection.

Using ancient tools and healing traditions, Merrill eloquently translates timeless concepts into modern language to lead the group towards greater intimacy with self, and with other. From here we find our own personal voice, and insight into just how we pray. Then, she’ll teach just how building an altar brings poignancy and pertinence to our prayers and intentions.

Drawing from her book, The Path of medicine Woman, Merrill Page demystifies ancient wisdom practice and offers tools to help ground you. Take home not just a sense of deeper connection and well-being, but also new tools for your own practice. Expect to leave with:

  • a deeper sense of well-being

  • tools for building your own altar at home

  • greater fluency in the “art of prayer”

  • community that inspires inner-dialogue and outer connection, simultaneously

2 to 4 pm, NW Washington DC.

“Healing happens within the context of relationship. That’s just how it is. There’s relationship to the natural world and its plants and animals, to the elements, to each other, to ourselves, and even to our ancestors, and what we still carry for them.” - Merrill Page, Earth Medicine: A Field Guide,

These sessions are led by Merrill Page, author of Earth Medicine: A Field Guide, healing in seasons and cycles.  Mother of four, writer, author, practitioner of cranial sacral therapy and founder of Earth Medicine Institute Taos, Merrill brings to us a lifetime of wisdom and practice in holistic health. Her work is informed by diverse medical systems (including Western Allopathic, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and Shamanic practices) that she eloquently translates for the modern mind.  While specializing in Women's health through transitions, she speaks easily to solutions for entire family systems, especially on topics related to stress and the nervous system.   Her heartfelt practice weaves old ways into our current approach to health & healing, and elevates our understanding of what it is to be well.

Her work has been published in Spirituality and Health Magazine, Unity Magazine, Energy Magazine, The Cranial Wave and others. Her books include Earth Medicine: A Field Guide, healing in seasons and cycles (Gracepoint Publishing 2021) and The Path of Medicine Woman: fertility, women's health and rewilding (Gracepoint Publishing 2024).
